Armor Announces Dance Coordinators

Washington, DC – November 25, 2008 – The DC Armor has named Bea Codjoe and Jane Said each as Dance Team Coordinators for the DC Armor Dance Team, the Armorettes.  The duo represents the innauguration of the DC Armor dance team.

“Both Ms. Codjoe and Ms. Said are proven dance and spirit instructors who will help us recruit and develop a very talented dance team for the DC Armor.” said Rod Chappell,  Partner at Arena Sports Partners, LLC, the holding company for the DC Armor.   “The dance team is an important component of the overall entertainment that the fans would experience at the games, and we look forward to seeing quality football in an exciting atmosphere with entertaining dancers helping to motivate our crowd,” stated Chappell.

“Ms. Codjoe and Ms. Said have a strong history working together as dance team coordinators and are well known within the local market.” said Corey Barnette,  Managing Partner at Arena Sports Partners, LLC and General Manager of the DC Armor.  “Their proven capabilities and relationships with numerous highly-regarded DC choreographers will make sure that the  DC Armor Dance Team’s performances maintain a DC feel with world class appeal”.

“I’m thrilled to be named as the Dance Team Coordinator.  This is a great opportunity for local talented dancers to showcase their talents and also be involved in the community, local charities and with the DC Armor’s corporate partners,” stated Jane.  “We look forward to establishing a great dance team that serves not only as dancers, but as ambassadors to the Washington DC area community,” stated Bea.

The duo’s is set to hold first round auditions for the DC Armor dance team on Saturday November 29 at 10:30 am at RFK stadium in Washington, DC.  Candidates will be evaluated on their preferred style of dance – although experience in hip-hop and jazz are preferred.  The two will focus on the following when making selections:  showmanship, dance technique, personal appearance/figure, personality, communication skills, energy, and kick technique.   Candidates must be 18 by December 31, 2008.  Lastly, for more details or to pre-register click the link at www.dcarmor.com.
